SAM.gov

The federal registry an entity must be active in to bid on and be paid under most federal contracts.

SAM.gov, the System for Award Management, is the federal government's official registry of entities that do business with it. Registration is free and is generally required to submit offers on and receive federal contracts and assistance awards. The record holds the entity's legal name, address, Unique Entity ID, CAGE code, tax identification, representations and certifications, points of contact and the bank account used for electronic payment.

Registrations expire annually and must be renewed, and contract clauses require the registration to stay active and accurate through final payment. A lapsed registration or stale bank details can delay awards, option exercises and invoice payments until the record is corrected.
