Privacy policy
Last updated October 18, 2026.
This policy covers floatweekly.com and the emails The Float sends. It is written to be read, so it is short. If a question is not answered here, reply to any issue and ask.
What we collect
- When you subscribe: your first name, email address, the industry you choose and the monthly revenue range you choose. All four are required to subscribe.
- The two-minute check: runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not stored and are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Email activity: our newsletter provider records delivery data such as bounces, unsubscribes and whether an issue was opened.
- Website logs: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site.
How we use it
- To send you The Float and to lead with the section for your industry.
- To understand our readers in aggregate, for example how many are in each industry or revenue range.
- To share your first name, email, industry and revenue range with eFin Cap, the direct funder that publishes The Float, so that it may contact you about business funding. You can opt out of this sharing at any time by replying to any issue with “do not share”, and you will keep receiving The Float.
Who processes it
Our newsletter is delivered by Kit (kit.com), which stores subscriber data on our behalf. Our website is hosted by Vercel. Both act under their own published terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone other than those providers and eFin Cap as described above.
Your choices
- Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect at once.
- To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, reply to any issue and we will act within 30 days.
- To stop the sharing with eFin Cap without unsubscribing, reply with “do not share”.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we say so in the next issue and update the date at the top of this page.
