Quick pay
A customer or broker paying early in exchange for a discount off the invoice.
Quick pay is an arrangement in which a customer, most often a freight broker, pays an invoice within a few days instead of its standard terms, in exchange for a percentage discount. The carrier usually chooses it load by load, with no third party and no ongoing contract.
The discount is typically applied to the whole invoice, including fuel surcharge and accessorials. Quick pay is only quick when the paperwork is complete; a missing bill of lading or receipt puts the invoice back on standard terms. Fleets often use it selectively, taking standard terms from brokers who pay reliably and quick pay when a particular week is tight.
